  • While a powered base is flooded there is an area at the top of the moonpool that contains oxygen.
  • Entering a flooded base and exiting through a Moonpool with a Seaglide equipped will cause the player to swim at incredible speeds.
  • If the roof is not being used for anything else (particularly Solar Panels in shallower water), there is enough flat space to place Exterior Growbeds on it.

With full acceleration, a Seaglide can jump into the moonpool without using the ladders. If a moonpool is located next to another moonpool, a double connection is possible. This allows the player to freely exit and enter the Seabase outside their vehicle without needing to use a Hatch.

The Moonpool also allows the player to access their base from the water via two Ladders on either end of the bottom entrance. The 'rear' of the building is where the rotating antenna is located on the roof: the 'front' of the building dictates the direction a vehicle will face when undocking. As one cannot rotate the Moonpool with the builder, the player will have to physically position themself so that the building 'faces' the direction they want it to. It should ideally be built far enough off the seafloor that a Seamoth will not hit the ground when it is deployed, but close enough that a Prawn Suit can easily reach the entrance with its thrusters. It is recommended to have an appropriate amount of space between the bottom entrance of the Moonpool and the sea floor. To reliably charge a vehicle, one Moonpool requires at least 150 Energy, equal to two Solar Panels. The rate of charging at a Moonpool is much faster than if one were to use a Power Cell Charger: this means that docking a Prawn Suit and swapping out its two Power Cells (which the player still has full access to) is superior to building a Power Cell Charger. Docked vehicles will be charged from the base's Energy, restoring an equivalent amount of Energy to the vehicle's Power Cells. It can, however, release vehicles without power. The Seabase that the Moonpool is attached to must have power (except in Creative Mode) in order to dock vehicles. These can be found in Wrecks or the Mushroom Forest. To unlock the Moonpool Blueprint, the player must scan two of its Fragments. They can also access a Prawn Suit's shoulder-mounted Power Cells, though they will have to jump into the water to access the Power Cell of a Seamoth.

From here the player can access the vehicle's upgrade slots and any cargo storage, repair the vehicle, or re-enter the vehicle upon which it is automatically released back into the water. Upon entering the access area, robotic arms will reach down and grab the vehicle out of the water, securing it for charging while a short animation plays of Ryley getting out of the vehicle. The Moonpool can dock one vehicle at a time, and is used by approaching the underside of the structure. It must be placed below water to be useful. It functions as a dock and charging station for a Seamoth or Prawn Suit and is the only room where the Vehicle Upgrade Console can be placed.

Maybe it should be, but then I was under the impression - as are many of the wiki editors - that most people already know this. The Moonpool is a Seabase module which is constructed with the Habitat Builder. It just wasn't made clear enough that fragment spawn chances are randomized so that the same fragment is not always found in the same location every single time. The wiki did not lie about the battery charger fragment being in the abandoned Jellyshroom base. If this doesn't work the first time around, simply redo the process and look again. What will happen is that the area around the abandoned Degasi base in the Jellyshroom cave will be refreshed and the spawn chance for the battery charger fragment will be re-rolled, giving you another chance to find the fragments you need. Now scroll down and delete ONLY this file: batch-objects-13-17-10 As is the case with many other fragments, it is dependent on that particular saved game.Ĭ\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames\slotXXXX\CellsCache\ Sometimes you will find them there and sometimes you won't. OK, so apparently battery charger fragments do spawn in and around the Degasi base in the jellyshroom cave but just not all the time.
